The search for the 'Perfect Wedding Dress'
You have said yes and have set a date for your wedding.....it's now time
to find your perfect wedding dress!!
Buying your wedding dress is one of the most exciting purchases of your life, however,
choosing your wedding dress can be one of the hardest choices of your wedding planning
as there are so many styles and trends on the market!
Every bride wants to walk down the aisle feeling gorgeous, glamorous and relaxed and there are so many
crucial things to consider in the search for your perfect wedding dress!!
Here are some Top Tips!!
Starting with.....
Preparing for your Shopping Trip!
Shoes/Sandles
Try on your potential wedding dresses with the shoes/sandles you will be wearing for your wedding!
If you don’t know which shoes you’ll be wearing, go for a style you think you’re likely to wear with the same size heel!
Underwear
Take nude, strapless underwear with you.
Skin Tone/False Tan
If your having a spray tan for your wedding day, get one before going dress shopping!
A white dress might not look great with your natural skin tone, but with a tan you’ll be able to carry off a crystal white gown.
Makeup/Perfume
Many boutiques prefer you to wear minimal make-up and perfume when trying on their dresses!
Trial Run
Sitting - When you try on your wedding dress, it’s very likely you’ll be standing in front of a full-length mirror!!
Try to sit down wearing your dress as you'll spend a large chunk of your wedding day sitting down so you need to be comfortable.
Walking - Its so important that you practice walking down the aisle in your dress!
Have one of your bridesmaid take a video on their phone so you can see how the dress will look from the front when your walking!
Make sure the length of your wedding dress is just right for walking. If it’s too long at the front you’ll end up kicking it, or worse, tripping over!!
There’s nothing worse than a bride having to hitch her dress up all day.”
Kneeling - If you’ll be kneeling during the wedding service, practice that too!
Dancing - Practise your first dance to check the dress will work!!
Bridal Preparations, Service, Venue!
A few things to consider.....
If you’re marrying in a small church or chapel with a narrow doorway or aisle, a wide dress won’t make an elegant entrance easily!
If your having decorations on the floor down your aisle make sure there is enough room for these
and your dress so they don't get knocked over as your making your special entrance
Will you need to walk down lots of steps/staircases?
